An access log is a text file which contains a full list of all of the files accessed by your Internet site visitors. All the files that were requested in one way or another shall be included, so when you have a PHP script application and a website visitor opens just the home page, for instance, you might find numerous files inside the log. This is because there are resources on the home page that are embedded - parts of other Internet pages, graphics, etcetera. All of these files will be listed inside the access log, so you can get a complete picture of the way your site works. The info is in plain text format, so the logs are sometimes called "raw data" as well. An access log shows the name of every requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, plus the user’s IP address, browser and OS. Additional information, such as the referrer site, is oftentimes supplied as well. A log file could be processed by various desktop programs for statistical purposes as an addition to the web stats generated by your server.

Access Log Manager in Website Hosting

If you choose one of our website hosting plans, you’ll receive thorough access logs for your websites. When you sign in to your Hepsia CP, you can go to the Access/Error Logs section in which you will see a full list of the domain names and subdomains that you've added or created inside the hosting account. You will only need to click on the On button, which is found on the right-hand side of each hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs immediately. To disable this feature, you will need to follow the same exact steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be managed individually and at any time. You'll find a download link in the Logs section of the CP for any log produced by our system, so that you can save the file to your personal computer and view it or use it with some log processing software.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

When you have a semi-dedicated server account with us, it won't take more than several clicks to permit the generation of access logs by our system if you need them. The feature can be activated from the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and this may be done independently for each domain name or subdomain that you have in your account. When you log in and check out the Access/Error Logs section of the CP, you will find a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to each one. One click will trigger the log generation and a second one will deactivate it, so you can control this feature with great ease. A Download link within the same section will allow you to save the generated content as a text file, which you could then use on your computer system. Even if the logs are deactivated, you shall still be able to download the data that's been previously generated.
